Image Gently, Image Wisely
As medical imaging exams have replaced more invasive procedures, people’s exposure to medical radiation has increased.
Imaging providers, like us, are concerned that radiation exposure over time could have adverse effects for patients, so we continue to act to ensure that our patients receive only necessary scans and to reduce radiation dose used during these exams.
We at Cheyenne Radiology are proud to have taken the Image Gently Pledge. In doing so, we’ve aligned with the Image Gently Alliance, a coalition of health care organizations dedicated to providing safe, high quality pediatric imaging worldwide.
The primary objective of the Alliance is to raise awareness in the imaging community of the need to adjust radiation dose when imaging children. The Image Gently campaign provides information and free educational materials to every member of care teams like ours, including parent information, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Digital Radiography, and (coming soon) dental information.
At Cheyenne Radiology, we also pledge to Image Wisely.
The Image Wisely campaign was built as collaboration between the Joint Task Force, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists with the objective of lowering the amount of radiation used in medically necessary imaging studies, and eliminating unnecessary procedures.
It’s an effort to help ensure that medical imaging protocols keep pace with advancing technology, helping radiologists carry out exams safely and effectively.
We pledge to always have your health and your best interests in mind.
